2015 WedLuxe Show Booth

What an amazing experience participating in the 2015 WedLuxe Wedding Show this past weekend at the ARCADIAN in Toronto. On Saturday evening, it was ‘industry night’ so it was great to meet lots of other talented vendors — photographers, wedding invitation and cake designers. Sunday was the big day with about 1500 – 2000 people going through the doors.

Although by booth was the smallest size you could rent (2′ x 2′), I received such a great response from people in regards to my booth — commenting that it was clean, simple and impactful. This was exactly what I was aiming for so I am thrilled to have achieved that. See the full view of it above as it is now in my studio.

The wonderful and talented Nadia from Nadia & Co. – Art of Pastry provided me with the meringue cake on the large display stand, as well as the little confections in each of the mini dessert domes.

For the last few months, I have been working on getting gift box packaging manufactured in China. The round box above is a sample that finally arrived only days before the WedLuxe show. There are a few tweaks that need to be made before I put in an order for 500 pieces. But my plan is to offer each purchased ring holder ‘wrapped and ready to give’ in a fancy gift box sometime this spring.

Thanks to Cool Green & Shady by providing me with the beautiful white roses. I also borrowed a gorgeous Vera Wang ‘Grosgrain’ china setting and silver flatware from William Ashley (not shown here).

All in all, the show was a big success. And I am already dreaming up booth designs for next year!

Chandelier in Studio

Since moving into our townhouse about a year ago, I have been slowly working on the design of my studio by picking out key pieces of furniture and searching for finishing touches like lighting and curtains. I found this amazing chandelier at the St. Lawrence flea market while antiquing with my friend Janine who is the designer and publisher of Uppercase Magazine.

Paige Smith_Studio ChandelierIt has been sitting in a box for the last year and Craig and I (with help from a friend) finally had a chance to put it up this weekend with a fancy ceiling medallion as well. The studio is definitely a work in progress as it takes time and money to finish everything but I am ecstatic and thrilled that this part of my dream has come true!
