It was a pleasure to meet the talented and lovely Sara Sull, who is the event stylist behind August in Bloom at the first show of Rebash in early April. I was delighted to say ‘yes’ when she asked to use a few mini dessert domes as part of her booth for the Wedding Co Show at the Gladstone Hotel. Inspired by the idea of a ‘secret garden’ and a palette of soft pastels, her wonderful tablescape feels like the first day of spring. Just beautiful!

What do Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy and Kate Middleton have in common? They all used Lily of the Valley in their wedding bouquets. In fact, Kate had about 100 stems in her modest but elegant bouquet.

For being such a small flower, Lily of the valley gives off such a tremendous scent. The flowers look like a small bell and they are generally usually white, although sometimes with a tinge of pink as well. Pull together a bunch of Lily of the Valley to make adorable, tiny bouquets.

Lily of the valley has the flower meaning of ‘return to happiness’ — humility, chastity, sweetness, purity and is said to bring luck in love.
